Ceremony
Will this be a full Catholic Mass?
Yes! Our wedding will be in a full Catholic Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church. The ceremony will include Scripture readings, a homily, the exchange of vows, and special traditions. It will last about 60-75 minutes.
Do I have to be Catholic to attend?
Not at all! We are grateful to celebrate with family and friends of all faiths and backgrounds. Your attendance means a lot to us.
What should I expect during the ceremony?
Our wedding Mass will include:
- A processional
- Readings from Scripture
- A Homily (reflection from our priest)
- The exchange of vows & rings
- The Unity Candle ceremony
- Communion
- A final blessing
We will provide a program so everyone can follow along easily.
Can non-Catholics receive Communion?
During communion, practicing Catholics who have received the sacrament may receive the Eucharist. If you are not receiving Communion, you are welcome to remain seated or come forward with your arms crossed over your chest to receive a blessing.
Is there anything I should know about Catholic Mass etiquette?
You are welcome to participate as you feel comfortable. Some parts of the Mass involve standing, sitting, and kneeling. Feel free to follow along or remain seated. There is no pressure to participate in prayers or responses.
Are phones allowed during the ceremony?
We ask guests to please silence their phones and refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. We promise to share professional photos afterward!
What does parking look like?
The church has its own parking lot, and there should be plenty of room for everyone! If you want to ensure a closer spot, please arrive early at your own discretion.

Where do I go after church?
The Community Hall in Nazareth is very close to the church. Head over there for cocktail hour directly after Mass!
